The Mangrove Garden

The Mangrove Garden is located at the side of the mangrove river of Sa\'anapu-Tai village on the south coast of Upolu island, Samoa. The property includes a nice restaurant with good and affordable food. Breakfast and dinner are included in our rates, lunch is always available too.
We have traditional samoan fales, which are open all around, but you can close them with blinds, so called polas.
4 of them are settled in our beautiful tropical garden under the shade of 3 big pulu trees, one of these fales is build inside one of the trees.
The 5th fale is build over the water inside the mangroves with a fantastic view to the mangrove river.
More fales in the mangroves will be available in the nearer future.
The bathrooms a shared, the showers are open air.
We can offer our guests canoe tours through the mangroves and lagoon, tours around the island, food from the traditional samoan lavastone oven, the umu and more.
You have the possibility to go surfing, turtlewatching or snorkeling with Offshore Adventures. There boat is located within 5min walking distance.
You can reach eautiful beaches in 5-20 min walking distance.

Directions

From the airport and Savaii wharf:
drive direction to Apia, turn right to the cross island road to Lefaga and Safata districts, keep on driving until you reach Sa'anapu village,if you see the sign on the left side, you turn right and keep on driving until you see the next sign. Turn right again and you are already there.
From Apia:
drive the cross island road via Vailima and Tiavi villages. After coming down the mountain on the south side, turn right if you reach Teh Siumu-village 4 corner.
Keep driving until you reach Sa'anapu village.If you see the sign on the right side, turn left and follow the instructions above.
Bus:
Only from Apia. Take the bus to Sa'anapu or another village in the Safata district.
