Activity/Tour
Board a boat, and bike around the islands of Don Det and Don Khone. Stroll to the largest waterfall in Laos and take in the spectacular view. Drive to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Wat Phou, a spectacular temple which pre-dates Angkor Wat. Ride atop an elephant to Mt. Asa in a sustainable tourism project to increase awareness of elephant conservation.
Pay a visit to a tea or coffee plantation of the Bolaven Plateau. Journey to Savannakhet, birthplace of the father of the Lao Democratic Republic. Tour the Laos capital, Vientiane and discover world-renowned Laos coffee on a coffee tour. Drive to Nam Gum Lake and reservoir, a beautiful area surrounded by mountains. Try a lakeside lunch of fresh grilled fish from the lake.
Watch as residents of the city offer food to long lines of orange robe clad monks in the magical morning ritual. Visit the Bear Rescue Center which provides information on efforts to protect these endangered animals. Take a guided tour of Luang Prabang, starting with the holiest temple in the city, Wat Visoun. In the evening ascend the stairs of Mt. Phousi and take in the view as the sun sets over the city.
Cruise down the Mekong to see how traditional rice alcohol is made. Carry on cruising to the Pak Ou Caves, carved out of a huge limestone cliff and filled with thousands of Buddha statues. Finally, board your boat for a two-day cruise down the Mekong River and visit a hill tribe village en route.
