Activity/Tour
See Luang Prabang and its outer areas on this six-day discovery tour. Immerse yourself in Lao culture with cooking and weaving courses and stay in a beautiful lodge in a hill tribe area. Help to give something back by participating in a book donation event at a local village school.
Ascend the stairs of Mt. Phousi and take in the spectacular view. Participate in a traditional Baci ceremony, used to celebrate special occasions. Dine at L’Elephant, Luang Prabang’s top restaurant. Learn about the history of Laos at the National Museum and have a proper Lao lunch at the family-run Tamarind Restaurant.
Early-risers can watch as residents offer food to lines of monks who disembark from pagodas in a magical morning ritual. Take part in a weaving course and learn about this craft which is central to Lao culture. Go to a cooking class run by one of the city’s most famous restaurants and learn how to make some delicious Lao dishes.
Cruise to the Pak Ou Caves, filled with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues. Stay in a private canvas tent complete at Kamu Lodge. Take the boat back to Luang Prabang, stopping to see how traditional rice alcohol is made. Visit Big Brother Mouse shop and take some books to a local village school.
