Ola found the company Kitesurf NOW in 2009 with an office in Mindelo and kitsesurf center at Salamansa. The company aim is to provide tourists with and unforgettable holiday experience whilst supporting the local community (including employment and training opportunities).
Guickly realised that in order to help the local community, tourism needs to grow. This can be accomplished by lowering the barriers for tourists to arrive in Sao Vicente: finding flights and accommodation.
About 2 years ago, I was approached by an owner of a holiday home in Praia Norte to rent out her property to tourists, mainly to keep the place secure, clean and to provide extra income. This proved to be a success and gave us the idea to expand the business to similar properties in Mindelo and other parts of the island.
