Close to World Birding center (500+ species), inexpensive golf courses and first-class hospitals. South Padre Island is an hour away with shelling, deep sea, surf fishing. Mexico is ten minutes away, with inexpensive dentists, doctors, medicine (you could save enough to pay for your stay, buying medicines in Mexico)and shopping. The border towns are safe and welcome Winter Texans.The tropical climate and the friendliness and warmth of the locals (they treat Winter Texans like family) are what bring Winter Texans to the Valley. Oleander Acres is pet-friendly. Your pets are always welcome, they have high-speed, wireless Internet (Tengo Internet), so you can keep in touch with family back home & tell them how warm it is
