My only low light was that there is a certain hour where one can neither have breakfast or lunch. Such a big hotel with 3 or four restaurants, with travellers from all around the world, with diverse customs, should always have a open option. I am aware that I am talking about only an hour in which there was no options open, but all in my favor; restaurant opening times should be reviewed. (I am not counting room service as an option for lunch) Having said the above the hotel is beautiful, enchanting, rooms are clean and service was real good, everywhere we went. The view from the bar excellent, a must-see!

Excellent concierge service, walking distance to most attractions. Comfy bedding, no in-room safe but has lighted make up mirror & robes. Building is beautiful.

The Hotel Frontenac dominates the skyline of old Quebec and the surrounding area. It immediately strikes you as an old-world chateau. You are greeted at the entrance by uniformed door men who are pleasant and very helpful. Although French is the primary language, English is widely spoken. The lobby is huge and warm. Check-in was seamless and quick. Make sure when you reserve a room that you specify a room around the outside perimeter of the hotel and not one facing the inside courtyard. We learned the hard way and were looking at roofs and air conditining units. We requested a room change, but were told no upgrades were currently available. Another couple we were traveling with, had an outside room and their view was fantastic! Try for a room that is on the outside perimeter and at least on the 3rd floor. The view will not disappoint. The hotel restaurant is over-rated and over-priced. With so many outstanding restaurants in the immediate area, there's no reason to settle for high priced mediocore food.

My husband and I stay at the Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac for 3 nights. When we arrived we quickly found out our room was had been filled and only a smoking room was available. I was 6 months pregnant and refused to stay in any smoking area of the facility. They tried to place us in a part of the hotel that was having work done on the outside and so again I was not happy but the first night we had no choice. The next morning my husband went to the front desk and we were placed in the executive area with a nice room, free internet, breakfast and snacks which made me a very happy mama-to-be for the last two nights. The hotel is in a beautiful location and we will be visiting again.
