The taxi driver dropped me off at the end of the block because the entire street is shut down due to massive construction. He assured me that the hotel was just a few steps away but he couldn't drive to the front because of the street closure. Walking up to the address listed on the confirmation, the only possible building that could qualify as a hotel was engulfed in scaffolidng and plastic sheeting to the point where I thought it was completely shut down due to construction. I looked closer and found a little gap in the sheeting where there was a door to a perfectly pleasant lobby and a smiling receptionist. He seemed somewhat sheepish--although unapologetic--for the way the hotel looked. I told him that it might be helpful if there was better signage indicating that there was actually an operating hotel behind all the construction. Once inside, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and my room was very, very nice. The bed was huge, linens top-notch, bathroom very modern and functional, flat-screen TV a nice touch, wi-fi was free, and it was quiet. It was one of the nicest rooms I've stayed in in Paris, and I've visited Paris a lot, including for business. Of course, there was no view--unless you count scaffoliding and plastic sheeting a view--but everything else was nice. The elevator isn't working, but a very nice bellboy helped with the bags up tiny stairs. Once the renovations are through, in September supposedly, this will be a wonderful hotel that I would return to. In the meantime, it's a great deal in a very nice neighborhood and you just need to be tolerant of the complete mess just outside the lobby doors. Bon voyage!

My husband and I have stayed in this part of Paris before and we love the area. This hotel was close to the Metro, restaurants, shopping...very nice location. It was safe to walk around the neighborhood at night. The room was small but charming and clean. The private bathroom was spacious for a hotel this size. Small problems we had in our room were fixed right away. We had WIFI computer access (free) which was a great convenience. Our room was on the fourth floor and the tiny elevator went up to the third; then we walked down a narrow hall and climbed a flight of stairs to our room. That put me off at first, but in the end we were very pleased with this hotel. The staff were pleasant and the continental breakfast was very good. I did the booking online and everything was in order when we arrived.
