Despite my late arrival in Wellington, NZ, after a long inter-continental flight, the staff welcomed me very politely and professionally and met my every need. Our communication prior to my arrival was timely, professional and courteous. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the bed was large and extremely comfortable. The internet connection worked perfectly and was a godsend for my work. The excellent breakfast was perfectly complemented by the wonderful views of the city. I was equally impressed with their bar/restaurant that boasts of wonderful food and an excellent bar (including some fantastic local wines). In sum, I will definitely stay here the next time I am in Wellington, NZ. In fact, this truly superlative stay at the Mercure is a big factor in my desire to return to Wellington for a longer stay.

From details given at time of booking, and first view of foyer, things looked good. Room small but adequate. Cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Dust on back of chair, brown marks on ceiling. Grout on tiles in shower had black mould and soapdish had thick scum on it that you can scrape off with your finger nails. The front desk was informed and we were told it would be cleaned. Three days later it still had not been done. So no I would not recommend Mercure to anyone
