No chain hotels in Aspen. Was not sure what to expect, but Molly Gibson turned out to be a gem. Good value for a pricy town, this hotel includes parking and hot breakfast. Our 2nd floor courtyard room was quiet, appears to have been updated recently and had a skylight along with a comfy bed. Friendly front desk staff gave us good advice for finding hiking trails.

This hotel is more like a motel. It is on main street and very loud. The rooms are very average, with 1970s decor. We could hear the people in the rooms next to ours and above ours - we could hear them walking across the floor -- it was not like they were throwing a party. The service staff were very indifferent. They asked in a non -committed way if they could help w/ luggage, etc. They could not tell us how to drive to a place because they had only biked there. I like hotels where people are willing to go the extra mile, or are better trained on the area attractions (it is Aspen after all). We were disappointed and did not rest well.

Great place with excellent staff. The breakfast and the wine and food in the afternoon was great. The only thing we did not like (or our backs) was the beds!

Our room was located above the breakfast/bar area and we could hear the thumping of the dolly bringing in food supplies up/down the stairs (sounded like a hammer). The room floors above us creaked LOUDLY and continuously like an old house. The walls were paper thin and we could hear conversations next door CLEARLY. Most of the staff were nice but everyone told you something different. Location was good. Complimentary food was nice.
