My son and I had come into D.C. for a long weekend. The location was fantastic, perfect for the Capitol and National Mall. Also, the tour bus stops right at the front door. The hotel itself was nice, clean and quiet. However, the only option for meals in the hotel is the Art and Soul restaurant which might be great for special occasions but is way too pricey for a quick breakfast. We ended up going to the buffet across the street at the Hyatt, which wasn't as expensive and all-you-can-eat. There are no pamphlets or information about other restaurants near the hotel or vending machines - which doesn't work with a teenage son! So, nice hotel, great location, but we probably wouldn't stay here again, at least not with growing, hungry all the time, kids.

  • Beautiful hotel

Rooms were very clean and beds were comfortable. Good location -- close to the Capital. Was a bit pricey, but then again most hotels are pricey in D.C. Parking was $47 a day - ouch! Staff was very courteous and helpful.

The staff I marked as fair because we hardly had any interaction with them. Phone would ring several times before someone answered. The room is extremely small. The bathroom door you had to slam shut to get it to stay shut. No cold water....tepid or warm. There were 4 people in our room and had to call daily to get the correct number of towels or washcloths. The bed was comfortable, once I climbed into it. I'm 5'4 and had to jump up to get into bed. The area isn't as bad as some people described. Union Station is close by and has lots of shops and restaurants to visit. Recommend Nothing But Donuts and Larry's Cookies. If he likes you, he gives you extra for free. Internet was only free in the lobby which was constantly filled with people using it. Did not use the restaurant in hotel, went elsewhere. Dubliner is a good restaurant (about 2 blocks away).

  • High end yet low key.

Food in the restaurent was wonderful. Sensibly priced. Inspite of all that--the beds were even more outstanding! So close to everything. It was all our girls (first time visitors) could ask for. I just told them to hold hands crossing the street & to make good choices. And they were off to see the sights. They are in their 30's & 40's. ;-) Very high end--but very low key.
