If you need to be in the NE Jacksonville Beach area, and want a very reasonable place to stay that is comfortable, clean and fairly well maintained, I highly recommend this motel. It's good basic accomodations. The staff were very professional and helpful. There is a free breakfast. Parking is easy in and out. If you have any paranoia for safety, ask for a room facing the parking lot or a second floor room, as one side of the first floor rooms has windows that face a retention pond area, that is not well lit. My window seemed to lock well, but I'm sure it could be forced open without alot of effort.

It was very convenient to the base, which is the reason we went there (only 2.5 miles from the main gate) but had some issues when we got there. The first room was so musty and mildewy that I instantly started to sneeze the minute we walked into the room. My children coudln't handle it either. That being said, they moved us to another room and it was just fine. The breakfast was very nice, eggs, bacons, toast, yogurt, etc. all included. Overall it was a nice stay.

The Best Western Mayport was a nice surprise for such a reasonably priced hotel! The front desk staff persons were all very friendly and efficient, and our room was very, very nice. The location is very convenient which made our quick stay very easy.

I was staying in Jacksonville to go to the landing for New Years Eve. The web said it was 5 miles away nope 18 miles and a fiftey dollar taxi ride. I asked for non smoking room got a smoking and I smoke and it bugged me. Went to breckfast in the am and a woman was talking to a friend on the phone as I stood to ask her if there was any food here. the only thing was waffle and no syrup took 20 min. to get her off the phone to get it. No plates to put the waffle on you had to use a bowl. No I would not stay there again.
