Glad i got a discount because any more expensive would have not been worth it. overnight parking was very expensive, but the parking valet was convenient and easy.

I guess I should have looked at more of the pictures here otherwise I wouldn't have so surprised at how swanky the hotel was. I must have looked like a dork with that big grin on my face when I walked into the lobby.
Eddie at the bar downstairs was very welcoming and I hadn't even sat down for a drink. He remembered me later when I can back for drinks with friends. Cocktails are well made but if you're not from a big city, the prices will hit you as steep.
Every staff member I encountered was cheerful and helpful.
If you're on a budget, a lot of the room amenities are pay as you go, so you might skip the $12 Continental breakfast (extra) and walk a few blocks to Panera over on the Nicolette Mall. Target is also over there for snacks, fruit etc, but the room I had didn't have a fridge in it, so be advised.
Another budget tip is that if you are headed there for the weekend, the street parking is free. They ask for $30 a night (but at least they valet the car for you) and it's not much better elsewhere...it IS downtown after all. With the Monday holiday, I parked my car in one spot on Saturday afternoon and didn't have to move it until I left on Monday at 10. :)
If you want to work out, the gym available is an actual athletic club and just a "work out room" so it's amazing.
Walking distance to the Mississippi River and also the park where the Twins play.
Good hotel, but for the price the rooms were just not big enough.
