In terms of a vacation destination for rest or touring this re-habilitated classic is hard to beat. Beautiful towns, close sites, nice small beaches, and world class dining in the hotel and about.
We shall return.

From the moment we checked in curbside to the check-out, the staff was incredibly attentive and friendly. Rooms are beautifully decorated in the era of the hotel and bathrooms updated spaciously with granite and comfortable lighting.
Breakfast buffett had everything you could desire, even fresh omelets and homemade waffles to order.
Spa treatment service a huge luxury as well as the glamorous hot tub and pool.
The shuttle service to downtown Portsmouth for Restaurant Week sure made our trip easier.
Our anniversary getaway was surely one to remember here at the Wentworth by the Sea.

Huge disappointment! My bff from high school & I spent 2 nights at Wentworth by the Sea to celebrate turning 50. The first night, we ate at the (expensive) in-hotel restaurant. I had a bowl of their famous (now infamous!) lobster bisque & she had a bite. She ended up with an upset stomach, I ended up horribly ill all night, and felt awful the next day. After nearly a week of conversations with chef, manager and several others, they refused to adjust our bill, claiming that their kitchen practices make my claim unbelievable.
Needless to say, I won't return, and I'll certainly be sure to pass the word. It's bad enough to be so ill (especially on a vacation), but who wants to stay at such an obviously poorly-run establishment?
Also had toilet that leaked into my room below, but no response after alerting front desk.

We only stayed one night and that was the best part. My wife and I stayed one night to shop in near by Kittery and didn't want to do all the driving in one day. We stayed in one of the suites on the marina on the 15th of February.
To start the staff were nice but the room was the opposite. When we got to our room it was great to look at but that was about it. The first thing I noticed was that the kitchen floor was sticky, my shoes were sticking to the floor! After unloading the car I sat on the dirty couch and noticed on the floor an orange pile of goo (and that is the best I can explain it) the ants seemed to like it though. I immediately called the front desk to complain. They did send someone with a can of raid and said they would send house keeping. After the day out shopping we decided to go for a soak in the spa tub, mistake! The tub smelled and there were all sorts of ?stuff? floating in the water before we ever got in, I decided to take a shower instead. After my shower I put on one of the robes only to find someone else's (and not my wife's) used tissue in the pocket. (I don't think tissues can hold up in the washing machine).
The next morning at check out the staff understood but in a way that gave me the sense they didn't care.
We will not be staying here again.

After getting engaged at the Wentworth Marina my fiance had another surprise--a night at the Wentworth by the Sea!
When we checked in they congratulated us (he had let them know of his proposal plans that day) and then told us that they would like to offer us a complimentary upgrade to one of the Marina Luxury Suites which are located across the way overlooking the docks at the marina.
The beds were heavenly, and we had a great time relaxing in the hot tub at the hotel. Because of rain we were not able to enjoy the outdoor pool, but those looked great as well.
We even had a washer and dryer in our suite, which was great because we were able to dry our swim suits before packing them away.
Dinner at Latitudes was perfect, we had great service and they had the fireplace going to take the chill out of the October air. We ordered room service later for dessert and were not disappointed when hot lava cakes arrived!
