Upon check in (on 10/23), the clerk rolled her eyes and sighed when I told her we were with a wedding party that had reserved a block of rooms and we were entitled to a discount. She insisted we had not reserved early enough (30 days in advance). My reservation was dated August first. During our stay our toilet ceased to flush. We reported it early afternoon and then left for the day. Upon return (9 hours later), our bed had been made so we assumed the toilet had been fixed. Not so. Apparently housekeeping does not clean toilets when they make up your room. We reported the problem a second time, only to be told that maintenance had already left and they would try to find a plunger. An hour later, still nothing. It was late - we had a long day of travel the next day and we wanted to clean up and get some sleep. I went down to the front desk and was told they couldn't find a plunger. I guess they were just going to let us sit up there and wait. A second clerk suggested borrowing one from the hotel next door. Finally about half an hour later there was a knock on the door. We were handed a plunger and the clerk walked away. No rubber gloves, nothing. We were on our own. We fixed the problem ourselves. We will never stay here again, nor will we ever stay at a Fairfield or Marriott hotel again. We will drive extra to find a Hampton Inn. And I strongly suggest other travelers do the same.
