We were pleased to find a hotel of this quality in the very small town of Cascade Locks. The location was great being just several miles from the Sternwheeler dock, Bonneville Dam, and the Columbia Gorge Interpretive Center. We enjoyed a spacious room with a wonderful view at the NE corner of one of the upper floors - a large L-shaped room with large windows on two sides looking over and up the Columbia River. The train passes adjacent to the hotel - the sound of an occassional train was not objectionable(another reason to take an upper level room).
Easy to get to, and BEAUTIFUL location - right on the river!

Great location - an easy drive to/from Portland to visit friends, as well as easy driving to the waterfalls along the Historic Columbia River Highway, Bonneville Dam, Hood River, and Mt. Hood.
The room was comfortable and had a gorgeous view of the river and Bridge of the Gods. We watched Osprey fishing from our window!
The breakfast was great - our kids (ages 10, 6 & 5) RAVED about the waffles!
Our whole family loved our experience here.

After the sticker shock of hotels in nearby Hood River, we were pleasantly pleased with the reasonable rates for this hotel. The room was very big, and had recently been remodeled, with up to date features including new tile and counters. It even had a little couch and a computer table, which were nice touches. The breakfast (especially the waffles) were good. Being next to a popular resturant with great views of the Columbia River was handy as well. The hotel also has nice views of the river, although our room was on the other side. There was a park on that side though, so it wasn't bad at all. I would definately stay again if the price continued to stay reasonable.
