  • DIrty rooms, lack of management, and "eclectic" decorations = DO NOT STAY

I could not spend one night in this hotel. I was moved between three different rooms, all of which were dirty. I had been traveling all day and just wanted a clean, comfortable bed. The fact that this was a "4-star" hotel was news to the front desk, who stated, "Four star? Really? I thought this was a 3 star at best." I would not recommend this hotel to anyone for the following reasons: The rooms did not meet basic level of hospitality standards There was no manager on duty, nor was there one until 2 PM the next day The picture of a scantily clad woman hanging from the outside made my wife refer to the look as "similar to a gentleman's club"

The beds were not the best and the pillows were not the latest "fluffiest" pillows I've seen in other hotels. Breakfast was not included but the food and staff in the restaurant was great. It was ideally located for the two universities we were there to visit and literally minutes from the airport. I would stay here again. Its music city! There was live music in the lounge every night....which we could hear (but not too much) from the 5th floor)

Hotel Preston's shining star is their staff. Everyone there is exceptionally nice and helpful. I was very disappointed by the lack of quality. The room rooms are just a hollow wood door that my grandmother could knock down. The furnishings were cheap and some broken. The water facets in the shower and the sink were both broken. The room was also not well cleaned. This was just a huge let down based on what was shown in the pictures. I won't be returning.

We went to Nashville to attend a concert, and searched long and hard for an affordable, mid-range hotel to stay for our short 2 night mini-vacation. For some reason, it seems like the choices in Nashville are either in the $50 or $200+ range.. Anyway, we decided to go with Hotel Preston, even though it was a good 10 minutes (car time) from our destination downtown. We booked/asked for a Queen or King bed, and received double beds. We met a couple in the bar our first night that expressed the same situation (so be prepared). We were okay with it, but some might not be. The room was OK. We weren't able to access any of the pay per view options, and even after we called down, we weren't offered any solution, etc. We were pretty bummed. Overall, the hotel stay was fine, but I think we may venture to another hotel upon returning to Nashville. Here's the kicker: When I returned home and checked my online bank statement, I had been charged $50 the day of check-in! This was in addition to the amount I already spent on the room itself. When my boyfriend called, they told him that they always charge $50 the first day in case of "incidentals". Ok, obviously, that is fine, but you should TELL THE CUSTOMER that they are going to be charged a mysterious fee! Honestly, it made me wonder if it would have been taken off if he hadn't called.
