The check-in process went smoothly and our room was on the ground floor just half-way down the hall. We had requested two doubles but the room we were given was a king with a sofa bed. We thought it would be ok as there were 3 of us to stay the night. When I folded out the sofa bed there were sheets, obviously not clean, already on it. I walked down to the desk and asked the desk clerk if we could have clean sheets and, of course, he seemed surprised. Then asked if I could get the dirty sheets and bring them to him because he would have to trade them out. I was made to feel as if I were trying to pull a trick and steal sheets. I took the sheets and blanket off the sofa bed and brought them up the hall to him. I told him that I would also like a clean blanket and a pillow as there wasn't an extra on in the room. He said that there I would have to use the dirty blanket and he was sure that there weren't any pillows in the laundry room. I asked if he couldn't get a pillow and blanket out of an empty room. He said that it was against what he had been instructed to do. I said, "So what you're telling me is that we are going to have to spend the night in your hotel without a blanket and a pillow?" and that I wouldn't be spending the night in his hotel as there are tons of hotels in Richmond where I would get basic needs met. About 10 minutes later the desk clerk called the room and said that he had called the manager and she would allow him to get a blanket and pillow from another room and he would bring them in a few minutes. As promised, he had gone to another room, ripped a blanket off of a bed, balled it up, grabbed a pillow and brought them to our room. At that point it was just funny because it was so wrong... the hotel business is so competative right now that in our frequent overnight stays, we find that all of the employees bend over backwards to make sure we have everything we need. We probably won't be back to this Comfort Inn

We had the misfortune of not booking early as my family and I were making the journey from Florida to New York on the way home. The hotel that we made earlier arrangements did not have a non-smoking room as promised and the out door pool I am confident were not all guests of that establishment. So suffice to say we were tired, a bit frustrated and hungry. So when we made our way to the hotel, we could have used a little bit of concern and understanding. We received neither, just instructions on where the steps to the room was and where to park. I liked the place as it was clean, comfortable and had a great breakfest. Those things were important, but when I commented of the tough evening we were having, there was nothing to making the added touch for a room that was a bit pricey. I enjoyed the room although we checked in late, a departed early. I just felt we were a bit of an enconvience. Otherwise, the place was nice but pricey.
