  • Worst Managed Hotel In Twin Falls, ID- Avoid It!

By Steven Haws on Aug 12, 2009

While traveling on our 10th Wedding Anniversary "Second Honeymoon", we made the mistake of checking into this Hampton Inn, on May 23, 2009, on the Memorial Day Holiday weekend. We were on a 16 day sightseeing trip, and decided to spend a few days in the area.
We fell asleep early, after a long driving day, before 7PM, and two hours later, we were wakened by a pounding on the door. It was a desk clerk filling in as a weekend "temporary manager", and SIX Twin Falls Police Officers. The clerk said there were numerous complaints of a "marijuana" smell coming from our room. We were dumbfounded by the allegation, since we are very anti-drugs, and the "manager" sent in the six cops to search us and the room. Of course, nothing was found, and the Police said we were innocent, as if they had any doubts, they would have arrested us. No other rooms were checked.
Upon finding out that we were innocent and realizing her grave error, the "manager" became very angry and starting yelling to the Police that She wanted us evicted anyway! Instead of an apology, we endured the humiliation of a very unlawful and malicious public eviction, with the "manager" harassing us through the whole process of packing up and leaving, complete with Police escort (they were apologizing to us, but said that they had to follow the Hotel's wishes)
This incident left us so shaken, and stressed out, that the rest of our trip was ruined. Complaints to the General, Regional and Nationwide Managers have gone ignored, with the only response being that since our charge for the night was refunded, "The Hampton Inn 100% Satisfaction Guarantee" was honored, and they all consider this incident over. Indeed it is not.
Thank you, Hampton Inn,for not charging us for a nighttime police raid and search, verbally abusing us and illegally evicting us for no reason at all. Real hospitality!
This incident left us badly shaken up, and totally ruined the rest of our vacation. We tried to revive the good feelings that existed before that night, but spent the next 2 weeks in non-Hilton Hotels, too jumpy and nervous at night to sleep, and just drove and fitfully napped during the day. We have not been the same since, and never will.
Twin Falls is a beautiful little city, with over a dozen other hotel alternatives that will not leave you exhausted, depressed, anxious and disillusioned. Pick one of them, and stay away from this one, especially on the weekends!
