I stayed for two weeks at this hotel with my boyfriend (who is 6'1) and we both found it better than expected for our price range. The room: spacious for Hong Kong where land is at a premium, bathroom no bathtub but did have a nice showerhead, and the internet cord was easily found giving us access to the free hotel internet (hard to find in HK hotels). The bed was comfortable and larger than the stated 'double' - fyi, it was a bit firmer than most US hotel beds but not drastically so. The food: the hotel offers free breakfast which comes in the form of sets at the restaurant. Avoid the western set! The eggs and meats will likely be runny and cold and generally not pleasant - we found that getting sets with local food such as noodle sets to be much better prepared and thus better tasting. We also tried the Japanese restaurant in the hotel which was good but somewhat pricey. The service: prompt, friendly, and spoke impeccable english. The location: the best part is that you are literally right across from Times Square which includes a large mall, City Super grocery store, and access to the MTR. The grocery store and takeout pizza shop around the corner provided cheap meals at times and helped conserve funds. The one down-side (or up-side depending) is that you are near Wan Chai so if you are going with family you might want to avoid walking down certain streets at night if you don't want your family exposed to 'working girls'. All in all we were very happy with our stay and would return if we happened to find ourselves in HK again.

The Holiday INn Express in Causeway Bay provides one with an excellent location -across the street from Timesquare and the Subway system. It is an easy walk to the Wanchai Ferry to cross to Kowloon or Hung Hom. The rooms are small but very clean and there is free internet access -wired - in the room. The staff was excellent: professional and friendly. Free breakfasts are also part of the room cost - a choice of four different kinds of breakfast - including a western one (but be aware: what they call "crispy bacon" is barely cooked. Seems the chef is not able to cook truly crispy bacon. ) But other than that, all the breakfast choices are superb. I highly recommend staying here. You won't be dissapointed.

Though I had seen the hotel on previous trips, I did not stay here. This time I decided to try it and it is excellent - the location is perfect: near shopping and literally a myriad of restaurants including three in the hotel itself. You can walk to the Wanchai Star Ferry in 10 minutes and take a leisurely ride over to TST. Moreover, it is great to be able to walk through the street market 2 minutes away. :The hotel reception is superb: friendly, efficient and professional. And unusual for most hotels here, broadband in room internet and breakfast. Some say the breakfast choice of four set menus gets boring; but all are very good. And after last week, they have even changed the menu again. The congee is worth having and it will see you through until lunch. The room is even larger than most in Hong Kong. Very clean, modern and the room attendants are very good and get the room done early if you wish. The only thing missing is a bath/shower combination,b ut the shower is large and has a "rainforest" effect. Bring your own soap and shampoo as they provide only the one dispenser in the shower stall. I will definitely return here again and again.
