dont be fooled by the slick photography. nearly everything in this hotel is broken. this little place is one of the first few hotels as you drive down the peninsula...so it is quiet. about ten minutes more on a bus takes you down to the action of the large resorts & clubs. this was one of the only redeeming qualities i found. theres so very much that is wrong with this place...heres the short list:
they buy in ice (as in NONE of the ice machines work-an entire hotel opening twenty pound bags of ice one at a time)
they have two kinds of beer (on tap), kind of cold because it just came out of the cooler & not so cold because its been sitting out more than a half hour. if you look, they just sit these little five gallon kegs on the floor
those nice italian fiberglass barstools in the lobby, four of the six wont hold you up-which is fine because the bars only open from 5-11 & theres really not much in the way of booze....which you really need a lot of to tune out the noisy cooler & piercing sound of the faucet as they rinse (yes RINSE) off the glasses between uses
the pool bar opens at 10 or 11 & closes when the lobby bar opens-again, not much in the way of selection.
service was in a word, terrible. especially at the pool (which was one of the few other great things about the hotel) it didnt matter if i didnt tip at all or if i was tipping 100% i could not get any of the servers to pay attention to me-getting up every half hour to go order a drink at the bar was not at all what i had in mind.
you have to sign for everything, its all billed to the room-a shot of tequila or a few drinks & lunch, they are constantly running around trying to keep track of everything on one of only two computer terminals in the entire place. (so if youre sitting at the pool waiting, your server will often be inside standing in line for their turn instead of checking on you)
those beautiful wedding shots you see-if someone does get married while you're there, theyll just shut everything down for it-and not really give you any explanation.
the restaurants...restaurant, rather...the sushi place is really just some low tables under flourescent lights in the lobby, the other two are in one room with a beaded curtain separating them-three different menus from one kitchen (while this is not in itself a bad thing, when one cant keep up, they all cant keep up) and the food was just...not good. the breakfast buffet was ok, if you pick right. the style of service was confused-they try for formal, fine dining with lots of staff (who dont know what to do) & place settings (incomplete because they didnt have enough wares to do a full tables settings) ...theyll pull out your (plastic patio) chair & then the fun starts as you cant quite tell whos more confused about whats next-you or them.
wireless internet was virtually nonexistent, making the gift shop computers very busy (even busier when one broke and they removed the tower, but left the keyboard & screen-which was apparently quite entertaining to the clerk).
the hotel basically shuts down at 11pm...youre a good 5 miles from anything, theyve got you captive & they stop everything at 11...
get change at the airport, or if you go out shopping somewhere, because they dont keep much on hand....maybe half the times i asked, i was given a flat out "no" ...again, everything is signed to the room, so maybe they dont see a need...for money...to spend...at their place of business....that you traveled thousands of miles to patronize....
after about 930 am towels can be hard to find
the room itself was fine...bed was decent, bathroom too. furniture was ok (a little stained, rusted, but functional) the safe was a joke...i think, if you wait long enough, you can go get a lock from the front desk (thats funny too-two small desks with employees on laptops), but its quite small & only screwed down to the armoire. the maids were great, thorough.
oh...and the music. they must have...three, maybe four cds that they play over & over again...well, not continuously...after about forty five minutes of silence someone might notice & restart the same cd of covers from musicals. a minor nitpick...but not at all in keeping with the image theyd like to portray.
about me...im a 35 year old bar/restaurant manager who's more than a little familiar with how this whole process is supposed to work. im low maintenance, i didnt require the room to be cleaned every single day & as long as you more or less do what youre supposed to do or at are at least nice while you do it, im fine. i was there with my girlfriend for nine days, we opted for the all inclusive package and if you manage breakfast for two and a few drinks during the day its worth the $60usd per day that i paid....but had i paid a la carte i would have left after my second day.
it wasnt all bad...a (dirty) flute of cava when you arrive & (bland) petit fours are a nice touch. the location is nice & quiet, the pool area is beautiful & if you get a room with an ocean view you'll see glorious sunrises (stand in your doorway at sunset and the view across the lagoon is just as beautiful.) while the service wasnt great, the staff is very pleasant & there were a few standouts. its a small hotel with a nice little stretch of beach, which i found comfortable.
get it cheap and go with really low expectations & you'll be ok, otherwise skip it, you'll be disappointed.

The hotel shows age but seems to be taken care of. Nice room, clean and comfy bed. We had a nice ocean view, quieter than the street side. The courtyard is nice and the pool attractive. Nice beach. If you want to experience those little pool side enclosed mattresses, get up early! The hotel is a bit far from the excitement but we had a car rental. Worth it. Internet is free and wireless but weak. Overall, great deal and recommended.

This was a quiet hotel, older hotel. It was clean and the staff was very nice. The beds were very comfortable. It was a little far away from everything (10 -15 min bus ride) . The biggest downfall was the Wi Fi. We were there for (4) days and it not work and they advertised is as being "free". The over all stay was good.

This was a great hotel to stay at on a budget and if you dont plan to spend all your time at the hotel. Its clean and the staff are friendly but not all speak english. I would not stay here doing the all inclusive plan or if you do not plan to leave the hotel, it is not a resort just a nice hotel. we ate breakfast in the hotel every morning and lunch and dinner out in cancun. Breakfast was cheap and very good quality i did the buffet whih was around 6 or 7.00. but they have a regular menu as well. free wifi in the lobby and some signal in your room (but not great). Overall will stay here again
