Carl-Dale Backwater Homestay Jeanne -- Feb 09, 2009 09:23 am Carl and Patricia Lewis are the perfect hosts in Kerala. We chose to be more free in the itinerary of our India trip. We didn't want a rigid structure, having never traveled to India before. The Lewis family were instrumental in helping us organize our trip, providing us with trusted drivers, purchased train tickets, suggestions for destinations and in general taking care of our every need, including arranging for a tailor to come to the house, when we bought materials for saris and 3-pieces. We honestly felt that they were our family in India, providing our base, staying in touch with us, making us feel safe, secure and thoroughly cared for. Their trusted home assistant Babu made the best coffee, cardamom tea, and breakfast we had in Kerala and also looked after our needs in the home. We can't say enough about these lovely people and their homestay.We would return to them in a New York minute! Our experience there was richer than we dreamed possible. |
