    If you travel to Carlsbad in the summer, be prepared to pay for an over-priced hotel. There are no deals here in the summer. The Holiday Inn was the first chain hotel to offer suites in Carlsbad. The rooms have seen better days. When we were there, the hot tub was full of foam that was up and over the edge of the tub. Breakfast is boring. Internet was slow. The children of the staff hangs out in the hotel. Stay here only if the Fairfield Suites or Hampton Inn are booked, or if you have to stay on this side of Carlsbad.

    The rooms were spacious, it was perfect for my family of 4 with 2 teenagers who refuse to share a bed any longer.
