Immaculate for the hobo travelers taste.

Stayed here during the summer of 2005. Its in a nice repurposed home with nice wood work and an open courtyard. They offer breakfast in the morning usually consisting of warm bread/biscuits, coffee, and some type of fruit spread. There is a kitchen, refrigerator, and a grocery store is close if you prefer to cook for yourself. There is a single computer in the main area and they offer a Spanish tutor if you need one. The price was 33 soles/$10US then. Well worth $10/night if you can deal with a dorm type room and a community bathroom. I think the room slept about 8-10 people, with a few single beds and 3-4 bunk beds. Everybody was very cool and from various lands. Ages range mostly in the 20-30year age group with a couple in their 50's rounding out an eclectic experience. If this isn't an option for you they offer a few rooms that have their own bath. Very pretty, quite neighborhood a couple of blocks from the cliffs and beach fronts. I left my main pack in the room daily as did everyone and nothing was ever missed. When I ventured to different cities, the host - at my request put items I had acquired in the car garage/port. A 5 minute taxi for $.50-$.75 will get you to the artisan district downtown. If you come in late (i.e. after 10p.m.) you will need to have another traveler let you in or hope the host hears your pounding on the door. Otherwise, the bathroom is clean and there is hot water all day long (a privilege). Use it early in the morn or wait in line to get ready for your day.
