This hotel has great staff members. The location is good, right on Main Street, and it was easy for us to get around. The rooms are in need of refurbishing, everything seemed a bit worn out to me. Also, the rooms still use actual keys. That was a touch of nostalgia for sure. The bed was very hard and very small - I had forgotten what it was to sleep in a Queen size bed after having slept in a King size bed for so long. Unfortunately, when I booked, the Queen was all they had left.

I wasn't looking for a lot of frills or amenities. all we needed was a low cost place to rest up while we spent five days in Durango. We got there at about 1000 am and were really tired from driving all night. the staff cleared us two rooms together and let us check in early. (thanks guys that was really a nice thing to do). The rooms were simple but clean and well maintained. Mine did have a back patio that they let us cook out on which really made my evening. It was a pretty busy weekend so they were full but there weren't any loud or rude people there like you find with a lot of low budget places. The staff was great. They were friendly and helpful and didn't mind that we kept locking ourselves out. They also gave us a few tips about traveling around the area. The beds were kinda hard but not so bad that I couldn't sleep on them and I couldn't get on the internet at all while I was there. Even for a continental breakfast the menu was kind of limited but they did have some donuts and some fresh fruit. Like I said, the place was kind of Spartan, there was no pool, no hot tub and no massage rooms but that's the difference between going on vacation to do things and going on vacation to stay at a resort. This place was a good room for a few nights that didn't cost us my social security to stay there. I'd definitely stay there again if I get to go back. Well worth the money paid.
