Herriot Country Tours - Yorkshire Dales England - Reviews

My sister and I have always wanted top see the Yorkshire Dales after reading all the James Herriot books. We stayed at Westfields Farms and took the tour guided by Peter. The stay at the B&B was wonderful! The food was fantastic and Chris and Peter were most friendly and delightful company. We left feeling like we found 2 new friends rather than owners of the B&B. Peter is a fantastic, safe, and thoughtful driver. With Peter driving, my sister and I were able to see the beautiful scenery that Yorkshire has to offer. It was so nice to be picked up at the airport and taken back. Peter does it all for you! I would not have wanted to drive on those narrow and winding roads! Our experience there was outstanding. I would recommend this stay and this tour to anyone who wants to see the Yorkshire Dales and its beautiful land. Our week went by so fast that we could hardly believe it was over. Chris and Peter's breakfasts are to die for!

We had such a wonderful time, we did it two years in a row! The tour was personalized to our interests.We were greeted with warm hospitality that lasted during our stay. Our days were spent surrounded by the beauty of the Yorkshire countryside as our expert friendly guide drove us to abbeys, castles, and stately homes. We gained a new appreciation of the literary figures of Beatrix Potter, Wordsworth, and James Herriot as we visited the scenic views that inspired their work. I will always treasure the memories of our outstanding vacations with Herriot Country Tours.

We had a most relaxing and enjoyable time on the Herriot Country Tour. Tour operator was very friendly, gracious, kind, patient and knowledgeable of the area and sites. Was flexible to take us to the Lake District and Beatrix Potter's Hilltop Farm and Wordsworth's Rydal Mount and picked us up at a hotel in Manchester rather than at the airport. Included a steam train trip to the North Sea! The trip far exceeded our expectations and was one of the best trips we have ever taken. It was a joy to experience the lovely countryside and scenery. At the end of the week they were kind enough to take us to a train station to continue our time in England, rather than back to the airport. They even suggested an alternative train station that afforded a more scenic route to our destination. This tour is highly recommended to anyone with a desire to see the Yorkshire Dales and James Herriot sites.
