Operator tour and private day tour in Morocco - Reviews

I just came back from a trip through Morocco using Hikali-safari Tours and the entire experience from beginning to end was excellent! My trip was from 8/8/2013 - 8/17/2013 and I traveled alone. I am a 30 year old professional from Forest Hills Queens.

To start hikali-safari was very prompt about returning my emails and answering all the questions I asked regarding what would be the right tour for me at my desired my price range and time in Morocco. ali tailored a trip for me with a new activity each day very quickly and provided a MS Word document with a detailed description of what I would be doing each day.

Once I decided to book the trip I had to leave a deposit instead of paying the entire cost up front and you can use a credit card which alleviates any concern of fraud because you have the credit card company backing you. This was NOT an issue but just for peace of mind knowing that Your Morocco Tours only asks for a deposit about 25% of the trip cost up front via credit card if you wish made me feel good about it.

I flew in to Casablanca and had to take a train from the Casablanca airport to Marrakech. Ali provided a train schedule for me via email and explained where I would need to go to catch the train to Marrakech which was very simple. The airport is quite small and the train station is at the airport no taxi needed.

Once I arrived in Marrakech there was a driver with a sign with the company name and my name waiting for me to take me to my riad. I was booked to stay at Samira Riads which was EXCELLENT. If you are not sure a riad is the equivalent to a bed and breakfast. You stay at one of her properties, Samira has three or four I believe. I was welcomed by Mostapha with mint tea and cookies when I arrived. They had my bag brought to my room which was clean and cozy. The architecture is beautiful, rooms are clean, safe and private (Pictures below). All rooms have flat screen tv's (not that I watched it) and AC with a good bathroom comfortable beds and nice designs. There are always 2 or 3 people on call at the riad for anything you need questions, food, laundry whatever they are very polite and there to help. The location of the riad was tucked away in the heart of the Medina which is the old city in Morocco and where you want to be. I was about a 5min walk from Jamaa El Fna which is the main square. All the shops are throughout the Medina. The riad's location was VERY SAFE even though its tucked away, no noise or undesirables were noticed and the city of Marrakech itself is VERY SAFE. You can walk around freely at night NO ONE will bother you.

I arrived in the afternoon and began my tour the following morning. I was met by a driver at 9:00am the riad has all your tour information so they tell you where to be and when and will escort you to your driver if you are unaware of where they will meet you. No cars can travel in the Medina due to the old tight streets only mopeds, mules and donkeys so the tour vans or SUVs will meet you right outside the Medina walls which is as close as they can go.

Since certain trips i.e. hiking Toubkal and camel trekking require short stays away from your original riad I can tell you that they were all very nice, safe and clean. The service is very good. You can leave your travel documents (passport) suitcase and money at Samira riads in the room safe provided and feel secure. NOTHING of mine was touched while you pack a small bag for road trips in to the Sahara or Toubkal which are two multiple night excursions that I took.

I really had an amazing time with Your Hikali-safari tours! Jana, Samira riad's and the guides were all EXCELLENT! I posted pictures of my Riad. I saw all the rooms which were all very nice by design and very clean and comfortable.
