We take 12 guests to the secluded areas of Prince William Sound for overnight to 7 day voyages - gorgeous bays, glaciers, and wildlife, along with photography, hiking, kayaking and naturalist guides. Good for all activity levels. Families welcomed.

Activity/Tour

1958 65ft former Presbyterian Church Missions vessel, which brought religion to the coastal Alaskan communities. We are US Coast Guard Inspected and Certified, bringing the utmost of safety and reliability to our voyages. Captain Rand has 30+ yrs experience voyaging the waters of Prince William Sound. M/V Discovery sleeps a max of 12 guests, and takes 4 crew to accommodate for varying guests interests and activity levels. Discovery Voyages has been in business since 1992, and a large portion of our guests are referrals from previous guests.

Age range, type of group

Breakfast 8-10 am, while we voyage to our morning location for an activity, perhaps a bog hike to photograph wildflowers and ending with scenic vistas. Return on board for lunch, and voyage to our next location, with the possibility of whale sightings along the way, and a stop to watch nature at it's finest. We arrive in a fjord to kayak in the glacier ice with the harbor seals. Return on boat for appetizers, and have supper along side the glacier, watching as it calves chunks of ice. Voyage to a secluded cove to anchor for the evening.

Sleeping and meals

Age range 5 - 95. All activity levels welcomed.
Also available to hire as a private charter for a friends/family group at a discounted rate.

Policies & Restrictions

Cabins sleeps 2 guests each. All meals are included with your ticket price, and our chef is able to accommodate for food allergies & most food preferences with advance notice (ie gluten free). Meals are served "family style", and are excellent. Lots of fresh, local seafood. We hold a liquor license, and included is a complimentary bar.
Sample meal itinerary, with as much local and organic food as possible: Breakfast: Alaska Blueberry Sourdough pancakes, fresh fruit, egg scramble
Lunch: Homemade Chicken Thai Soup with fresh vegetables, fresh baked bread, salad;
Appetizers: bacon wrapped scallops, halibut cerviche, fresh mozzarella/tomato
Dinner: Copper River Red Salmon or Beef Bourguignon, fresh asparagus with pine nuts, dirty rice with beets, dinner salad with homemade dressings, fresh bread
Dessert: homemade chocolate molten lava cake

Ticket price includes B&B the night before and after your voyage, transportation via private van shuttle to/from Anchorage and the port of Whittier, all meals, and activities while on board the Discovery. Complimentary bar of fine wines, beers and liquors.

Shoulder season discounts available. We also offer a Grand Alaska tour in July and August, which includes Prince William Sound and also a stay inside Denali National Park. Please contact for more information.
