The Lincoln Park is Chicago's quintessential neighborhood which is just north of the Loop and Gold Coast, and follows Chicago's beautiful frontage and sandy beaches of Lake Michigan. Second only to the Gold Coast in terms of home values and per capita income, it has long held the reputation as Chicago's premiere retail, dining, social and cultural destination.

The Lincoln Park Zoo is one of the nation's best -- it is a large and free zoo in the center of the city and adjacent to the lovely Lincoln Park Conservatory, Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool and the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. The sandy beaches of Fullerton Parkway and North Avenue are just beyond. Café Brauer overlooks the Lincoln Park Zoo Pond which features morning birdwalks and paddle boats for rent. Kayaking, boating and bicycling (bikes for rent) are available on the lakefront.

The Armitage / Halsted shopping district is hugely popular with scores of designer boutiques as well as national brands such as Benetton. The theatre district is within walking distance -- the Steppenwolf Theatre being the most nationally prominent of the many in the area. Restaurants from five star to casual breakfast cafes line the streets, many of which feature al fresco dining during the warmer months.

The Guest House is a renovated Chicago three-flat that retains a scant few exterior features from its construction circa-1890, which was a part of the resurgence of building across the city following the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. It is a quiet retreat in the midst of lively city life, in a neighborhood of beautiful century-old homes and mansions.
