Beautiful Cape Breton Island, Upper Margaree is amazing. Beautiful mountains, beaches, trails, fishing, boating, hiking and more! Watch for the bald eagles on the river. Fishing on the upper Margaree river for trout and salmon is world re-known. The property has a private brook right behind the house with foot bridge where you will find brook trout most of the time. The town of Inverness is a quick drive to restaurants, museums, tourism center, and beaches!(14 miles: 20minutes). You will find lots of Celtic music and culture in the area as well as the beautiful Cabot Links golf course!

Vacation Rental Property
A typical spring/summer/fall day at the farmhouse would include awakening to a misty mountain morning that soon transforms to a blissful and comfortable day. Mountains in the horizon and hummingbirds at the door is to be expected! The day is up to you....Egypt Falls(waterfalls), Inverness beach, a day of fishing on the Margaree, or reading a book outside on the porch...it's up to you. The house was built about 100 years ago by my Grandfather and remains in the family. Although up dates have been done over the years, you'll still feel the warm Nova Scotia farm feeling as you spend your days.

The type of group this home would cater to, is anyone who has an appreciation for beauty, outdoor life, Celtic music and arts, beaching, golfing and discovering what Cape Breton Island has to offer! All age groups are welcome.

Services Offered
Billing is done through U.S. dollars. $100.00 dollar deposit is due upon booking and is non-refundable. 2 weeks advance notice is required for cancellation. Billing will be applied otherwise. Please no smoking in the home. Pets are allowed, but will include a $50.00 charge for additional cleaning. Pets are not allowed on beds. All persons interested in renting must be age 21 or older. House must be left the way you found it. Garbage is to be put out in the bin by the end of the driveway at the end of your stay. Linens and towels placed in bath tub. Dishes washed and put away.

Policies & Restrictions
Minimum stay of 7 nights. $700 per week(U.S dollars) for 2 adults and 2 children. Each additional child/adult will be charged $75.00 for the week.

The Margaree Farmhouse is in a peaceful, quite place. The area allows you to explore the beauty and wonder of Cape Breton Island. Most entertainment is a short drive. The towns of Inverness and Cheticamp have lots of restaurants, shops, museums, antique shops, historical interests, beaches, trails, fishing, banks, craft shops, grocery stores and pharmacies.
A day trip to The Fortress of Louisburg, the Gaelic College, The Cabot Trail, and Golf courses are something to put on your to do list. Also, a trip to Baddeck is a must, where you will find... Shopping, Lobster dinners, and of course a visit to the Alexander Graham Bell museum. Head over to the village of Mabou, where the Celtic music will be heard and dining at the Red Shoe pub isn't to be missed.
