Can you imagine walking through a golden treasure? The Algarve Cliff Trails will take you to discover the Algarve coast, a unique painting where you can admire wonderful views of limestone cliffs carved by the sea and wind. Along the way, you will find small fishing villages and some abandoned fortresses that remind us of the time of the kings and the time when the pirates ravaged this coast, immersed in the beautiful unspoiled beaches of Algarve!

Day 1: Arrival - " Welcome at Faro / Lisbon airport. 1:00 hour drive to Lagos (3.00 hours from Lisbon). Lodging in a typical Algarve building 4* Hotel with swimming-pool, that epitomizes the Algarve culture, with blue and white corridors which link the rooms, patios, restaurants and bar .
Day 2: Lagos to Luz Beach. Coastal Hike Day (13 km, +400 m)
The old and narrow streets of the city of Lagos will be your starting point. Heading towards the sea, you can still see evidence of the ancient wall surrounding the town. Later you will be delighted when you get to Ponta da Piedade, a group of rock formations, formed by dense eroded cliffs that have carved out rocky pillars, natural tunnels and hidden caves, where you can find one of the most beautiful natural scenery of the Algarve coast. Find some quiet and peace to rest at the small town of Luz, by a wonderful beach of pure golden sand.
Day 3: Luz to Salema village. Coastal Hike Day (13 km, +450 m)
Today is reserved to experience some quiet but lovely local villages and their fishing tradition. The beach of Luz is just perfect! You can enjoy the quiet beautiful beach or just explore some of the ruins of Roman baths from 3rd to 5th century just behind the wall that runs along the promenade. What can we say about Salema? It’s a fantastic out-of-the-way and laidback smalltown, an alternative village where you can enjoy the beach and the tasty local gastronomy based on fresh fish from the ocean.
Day 4: Short car transfer and Hike from the Typical inland villages to Salema - " (9 km, +150 m) or (16 km, +300 m)
This is your rest day in Salema, free to enjoy the surroundings by foot or ask for a transfer. You have the possibility to discover some typical inland villages, amazing stone pinewood or relax in wonderful beaches. Take your time.
Day 5: Hike Salema to Sagres (18 km, +650 m, difficult terrain) or transfer by car to Zavial and hike to Sagres (11 km, +300 m, moderate)
Today there are two options: start your hike to Sagres in Salema or after a short car transfer from Zavial. This day is the most challenging day on the program, but also the most spectacular one in natural beauty! Wander through unspoiled secret beaches with lagoons and a coastline almost untouched by Man. You will find a landscape of rare beauty right there for you to discover while you walk along trails on the cliffs. At Baleeira Bay, enjoy an amazing beach of fine sand and five small islands that give this place an unique charm.
Day 6: Sagres to Cape S. Vicente. Coastal Hike Day (14 km, +200 m). Transfer back by car to Sagres.
On the last walking day, you will walk along the high cliffs of Sagres and discover the Cape São Vicente - " the place where the land ends and the sea begins! The stage for so many battles, Sagres is the most south-western point in continental Europe and also the place where our brave ancestors sailed on their caravels seeking new adventures and continents five centuries ago!
Day 7: Departure - " Farewell at Faro / Lisbon airport. 1.30 h drive to Faro airport. (3.30 h to Lisbon).
