Eco-tour - Highlights

DAY1: AKWAABA - WELCOME
After your flight into Accra, Ghana, our experienced guides will meet with you at the Kotoka International airport, from where you will go to Hunters Lodge at Winneba (Windy Bay) Reserve. Here you will rest and acclimate for the rest of the day.

DAY 2:WINDY BAY RESERVE
The day starts with breakfast and a short tour discussion and then the birdwatching begins at Windy Bay Reserve, where we hope to see, among other species:
Curlew Sandpiper
Wood Sandpiper
Marsh Sandpiper
White-fronted Plover
Ruddy Turnstone

Day 3: KAKUM CANOPY WALKWAY:
In Kakum National Park over 250 confirmed species resides, including hornbill, african grey parrot and the white breasted guineafowl who is among 7 other species of global conservation concern.
The first day in Kakum we will spend on the fabulous Canopy walk platforms, which we hope will make for a treat for even the most hardened birders.

Day 4:KAKUM NATIONAL PARK,
Our second in day Kakum we will hike through the Park and we hope to see among others species:
Violet-backed Hyliota
Chestnut-capped Flycatcher
Brown-cheeked Hornbill

Day 5:ABOABO
In the northern part of Kakum we find Aboabo. Here we will have another chance to catch some of the birds we might have missed at the main entrance at Kakum National park, be on the look out for:
Red-billed Dwarf Hornbill
Blue-throated Roller
Shining Blue Kingfisher

Day 6:MOLE NATIONAL PARK
We leave for Mole National Park on day six. Mole National park is Ghanas largest wild life reserve, and harbours the country´s largest population of birds. Here you will not only see birds, but also elephants, antelopes, buffalos and many other animals.
We will spend three days in Mole National Park to ensure that you will have plenty of opportunities to see as much of Ghanaian wildlife as possible.

DAY 7:MOLE NATIONAL PARK
To the rocky escarpment of Mole National Park notable for stone partridge and many species of birds. Among others we will be on the lookout for:
Splendid Sunbird
Chestnut-crowned Sparrow-weaver
Bearded Barbet

DAY 8: MOLE NATIONAL PARK
On our third and last day here in Mole National Park we will continue our birdwatching on the moist woodland, and try to see more of the vast number of bird species residing in the park.
Violet Turaco
Blue-bellied Roller
Red-throated Bee-eater

DAY 9:KUMASI
Here we stop for a day of relaxation. In Kumasi you will find the Kumasi Central Market, which is Ghanas largest traditional market, consisting of more than 10.000 stores. Here you will find every conceivable product in Kumasi.
You will also be able to visit the Manhyia Palace Museum where you will get insight in the Ashanti history and will be able to see some key historical items pertaining to Ghana's ancestry.

DAY 10; ATEWA-ACCRA
Early morning birding at Atewa Range before your departure at the airport.
The Atewa Range is special as it among other things, has an area of about 17,400 hectares of upland evergreen forest, rare for Ghana. Here we hope to see among others:

Green-tailed Bristlebill
Yellow-bearded Greenbul
