The jungle safari takes place twice in a day. One in the morning and second one in the afternoon. Ideally the day would start very early in the morning with a bed tea. One needs to be ready for 3 hour jungle safari at the crack of dawn. The safari begins at sunrise.
After return from safari there is free time either to rest or explore the town of Sawai Madhupur. One can even visit a very famous Lord Ganesh Temple located inside the Ranthambhore Fort. To visiting the temple one needs to pass through the tiger reserve.
The second safaris happens after lunch and generally starts at 15.00 hrs. The duration of both the safaris is about 3 hours and there is a fairly good chance of seeing a good variety of wildlife.
On return in the evening at 18.30 to the hotel or resort there is free time to rest and relax.
One has the option of going for both the safaris or even one depending on the time and interest.
The safaris are generally done is two types of vehicles : a ) Canter : This is a open top mini bus which can take about 22 persons. The advantage of this vehicle is that it is cheaper then the jeeps, easily available and has good vantage point to sight animals. The second option is that of open top jeep.
