Imerhane, Born and raised in Imlil, a Berber village in the heart of the Atlas Mountains of Morocco and some 65 kilometres south of Marrakesh. His mother tongue Berber. Also fluent in Arabic, English and French.

Originally a muleteer but gradually expanded into leading groups and individuals on treks in the Atlas Mountains. Founded the first travel company actually based in the Atlas Mountains and for 6 years now has taken on the full responsibility of organising tours and treks. As well as dealing directly with clients, works with major international travel companies. Diploma from the Moroccan Centre for Professional Guides (Centre CFAMM) and Mountain Rescue Certificate following full training with the Moroccan Royale Federation of Ski and Mountaineering. In his book, Moroccan Atlas - The Trekking Guide, Moroccan expert Alan Palmer says " Jamal Imerhane is an extremely positive and helpful official guide".
