O'Carroll's Bed and Breakfast on the Yellowstone

Paradise Valley is the north gateway to Yellowstone Park. The scenery is breathtaking and the valley abounds with things to see and do. World famous fly fishing streams are plentiful and the Yellowstone is a wonderful river on which to float or white water raft. Kayaking is popular as well as windsurfing on Daley Lake.Hunters love Montana in the fall and winter hunting season.

Horseback riding and pack trips into the remote areas are popular. Livingston and Gardiner have good rodeos in late June and early July. And, one can see the beef cattle ranches for which Montana is famous. Hiking, pack backing and picnicing are popular activities because of the plentiful creeks("cricks") and trail heads into the Gallatin National Forest and the Absaroka- Beartooth Wilderness.

Chico Hot Springs Resort is nearby (6.5 miles)with its five star dining, hot springs swimming pool, massage therapy, dog sledding, stables, etc. There are many artisans in the area who have galleries in the valley plus a number of fine art galleries in Livingston. Livingston is also home to a really neat train depot and museum plus some nice eateries.

In addition to the B&Bs in the valley and Chico, there are also
"dude" ranches that offer fully planned week or longer stays.
Airplane rides are available at Planes and Reins and every so often one can see a famous movie celebrity--Peter Fonda, Meg Ryan
and Dennis Quaid and Al Giddings have homes here. Robert Redford
spent time in Livingston during the filming of "A River Runs through It" and in Big Timber (35 miles east of Livingston)for
"The Horse Whisperer".

O'Carroll's is two years old and features three cedar porches from wich guests can view the mountains. Our B&B is built on 20 acres of former ranch land bordered on one side by Eight Mile Creek. Across the road (US89) visitors have access to 5 acres of river bank for boating, fishing and picnics. This land is on the flood plain--too low for building but a beautiful recreational area. O'Carroll's is a two story, two year old house. The kitchen, greatroom and dining areas are the heart of the first floor. There is a hot tub room available to guests and a den separate from the greatroom for TV viewing. Our decor is a unique blend of antique and traditional and misssion styles. One guest made the comment that she thought that our designer was influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright and sent us a book describing his work. Our description is that our theme is what we think is right!

The second floor houses four bedrooms and our second floor porch is popular with our guests.

The Mission Room is our largest room--it has a kingsize bed and
oversized bath with an antique tub and separate shower. It opens off the den and connects to the hot tub room.

There are four more rooms upstairs, each with its own bath. Two of these rooms, the Victorian and Absaroka have queen beds. The Cardinal and the Riverview have two twins each. All rooms are comfortable and attractively decorated.

Breakfast is included in the rate for each room. We serve a hearty full meal. (If a light breakfast is requested, we will be happy to provide it. This is especially helpful when our guests want to get a early start to the park or a long days drive.)
Telephones are provided in each room and a computer is availble for using the internet and accessing email.

We are a smoke-free facility.

Pets are not allowed inside. We do have a kennel that guests may use ($5 per day). This must be arranged early because limited space (first come, first serve).

Children 6 years and older are welcome. We do not have any special equipment for young children.
