Yosemite Bug Hostel & Lodge

We are 20 miles from Yosemite National Park where guests enjoy sightseeing, day hiking & backapacking, climbing & bouldering, skiing & snowshoeing, ice skating and photography.

The Merced Wild & Scenic Area is two miles away where guests mountain bike (we rent), commercial raft, kayak and hike.

We accommodate a range of budgets and tastes. Bug's atmosphere is primarily derived from the relaxed and fun hostel guests. Individuals to groups love these clean, well kept dorm cabins. Because of demand, we have provided share bath accommodations for familes & couples in the Main Lodge. Our private rooms with baths are well appointed half cabins for 2 to 5 people. We also offer couple's tent cabins and campsites.

The private rooms with share baths offer Gold Rush fun to Victorian decor. See the website for individual decor and photos. Each has a view deck, a large bath, modern utilities, and is a private half of one cabin. These rooms can accommodate 1 to 5 people in different configurations.

The Recovery Bistro feed 75% of guests everynite, simply because of the fresh food served at a value. We cut back on services and options, but always offer vegetarian and four meat entrees, lunch to go, breakfasts and a well chosen beer and wine list.

We offer an amphitheater for special functions and groups, a meeting room with a view for 25 ppl, and a reception/multipurpose building for 120.

We rent bikes for nearby mapped trails and show guests the local swimming hole nearby using our own walking trails.

The Bug does apply conservation of it's resources to accentuate it's positive environment. We do not offer television, there is one pay phone, the private rooms with baths have air conditioning, there is web/email access, coin laundry, a hostel kitchen for hostellers, and housekeeping only freshens linens and rooms once before you arrive.

There is an excellent bus system into Yosemite from the Bug and surrounding communites for those who do like like to contribute to congestion.

No pets of any kind anywhere on the property. We have hostel pets on property. No smoking inside or outside except for decks.
