We are only a 15 minute drive to Ingleside Plantation Vineyards and the Westmoreland Berry Farm. Photographers and artists can capture the beauty of our back roads and waterfronts. Outdoorsfolk can hike the trails of the area's nature preserves and parks, golf at nearby courses, bike the rolling hills, or canoe or kayak on our creeks and rivers. Bird watchers can look for eagles and great blue herons, or in the winter gaze at the whistling swas on Popes Creek.

'Tween Rivers is a gentrified 1920's country colonial home set on an acre of trees and gardens in a small American rural village. Make yourself at home in our second floor sitting room with its overstuffed sofa, pre-breakfast coffee, books and games; the first-floor parlor with its fireplace, Oriental rugs and stained glass lamps; the wraparound porch with its oak rockers and wicker furniture; or under the rose arbor.

Our guest rooms are individually decorated with antiques and period furnishings, terry robes, and fine linens, and our private baths have thick towels, specially made soap, conditioning shampoo, and body lotion. On cool nights, snuggle under goose down comforters. In spring and fall, sleep with the light country breeze blowing through the windows. And in summer, cool off with central air-conditioning. You will find books, reading lamps and bedside clocks in your room, and complimentary soft drinks available throughout your stay. On Saturdays, be our guests for complimentary wine and cheese in warmer weather, or sherry in front of the fire during the winter.

2002 Packages: Bike America's Historyland, $250 per couple: Discover the area where George Washington, James Monroe, and Robert E. Lee were born -- arive late afternoon or early evening and relax on our porches with homemade cookies and soft drinks. In the morning after a full breakfast, bike 7 miles on country roads to Stratford Hall Plantation. Tour the magnificent Great House and 1700-acre working plantation, hike along the cliffs overlooking the Potomac. Bike back to our B&B for afternoon wine and cheese. Next morning, savor another delicious breakfast by candlelight, then explore the nature trail at Washington's Birthplace, look for eagles and shark's teeth at Westmoreland State Park, or bike the roads along the vineyards and take a tour of Ingleside Winery.
