Originally built in the 1930s as a villa, Tianjin Cloudy Bay Hostel offers a 360-degree view from its rooftop. Painted blue and white, it echoes to the city's past as a foreign concession complete with European architecture and a large port.
The hostel has one female dorm, six rooms each with six to eight beds, and two single bedooms with private bathrooms. Each floor has toilets and showers.
It also offers 24-hour hot water, central air conditioning and free wifi as well as a cafeteria, bar, laundry room, activity room, meeting room and an open kitchen. Guests may use our Internet-accessible computers, lockers (with keys), storage space and bike rental service. There is no curfew. Guests can enter by punching in a code that is changed daily. We also have security cameras in all public areas.
While the hostel does not provide breakfast, guests can buy fresh coffee or tea at the bar. It has pool parties and barbeques on the rooftop in the summer and can arrange cultural activities, including tea tastings, Chinese cooking classes and tours of the local sights.
To reach Tianjin Cloudy Bay Hostel by bus, take Number 827 from Haihe Guangchang (the square between Tianjin Railway Station and the river) for one stop and get off at Zhongxin Station. Walk 10 meters along Xing'an Lu and turn right onto Harbin Dao. The hostel is 310 meters further.
By subway, take Line 1 (Shuanglin direction) and leave exit A at Yingkou Dao Station. Walk along Chifeng Dao for 670 meters and turn left onto Shandong Lu. Walk 100 meters and then turn right onto Harbin Dao for a further 80 meters.
If taking the airport shuttle, get off at Hebei Lu. Walk along Hebei Lu and turn left onto Shandong Lu. Walk 180 meters to Harbin Dao, turn right and go another 50 meters.
