Aimed at regular cyclists who have a degree of off road experience. Some moderate and difficult technical sections. Distances of 25-50 miles / 40-80 kms per day.

Is this suitable for you? ... If you have some experience of off road riding on a variety of terrain, and would like to do more, a grade 3 trip could be for you. These holidays give you elements of our higher grade trips but at a manageable level with sections of singletrack (narrow trails wide enough for one rider) and shorter steep sections (both up and down) which require more bike handling ability. A day's ride can see you on the trails for around 8 hours (with breaks) and covering between 25-50 miles depending on the terrain. If you're generally fit and manage to ride regularly this could be the level for you.

Mining Towns & Piscinas Dunes 28 Miles / 45 Kms Approx. B L D

Today's first ride is a journey through varied landscapes, a loop ride giving a true taster of what Sardinia has to offer and a great start to your holiday. Starting from the agriturismo we head out towards the coast in order to officialise our coast to coast adventure. The view is breathtaking: ahead of you, the towering sand dunes of Piscinas stretch across the horizon, surrounded by hills carpeted with lush green Maquis vegetation. As we descend towards the coast, we will pass abandoned mining dwellings and machinery, the only testimony of a once thriving community. Reaching the coast, you will have time to absorb this remarkable landscape of sand dunes and go for a swim before heading back onto your bike for the next fun section off-road. We will follow the coast north for a while, before heading eastwards, taking a well marked trail which will cross a stream 21 times. With a last effort, we ride back to Montevecchio and the agriturismo which again is your home for the evening.

As with all of our trips we aim to use locally owned accommodation which showcases the style and hospitality of the area you are visiting.

Accommodation (shared twin or double rooms) will usually be ensuite in 2 and 3 star hotels or guesthouses.

Breakfasts are typically Italian and usually consist of a range of breads, cooked meats and cheese, sweet pastries and yoghurt. For lunch our guides serve up a great buffet of local and seasonal treats often with a pasta dish to keep the legs turning. Often the lunches we provide are sourced from our agriturismi or one of the guide's favourite producers or delis. Evening meals are either taken at a local restaurant or your accommodation. Generally speaking these consist of antipasti (a selection of appetisers), a pasta course, a main course of meat or seasonal vegetables finished off with a sweet dish, fruit, coffee and liquors all washed down with the great local wine. Vegetarians and people with specific dietary requirements can be catered for - please indicate at the time of booking if you have any dietary requirements.

Other Informationkeyboard_double_arrow_up
Sardinia is the second largest Italian island placed in the centre of the western Mediterranean basin. With a coastline 1,820km long, it is not only a region of beaches and emerald blue seas but also a land of untouched mountains.

Historically it has been colonised and controlled by a vast range of different nationalities and civilisations which have all left behind parts of their culture, enriching Sardinian food, architecture and society and giving it its own unique identity. As we continue across the island, the terrain will alternate between the hilly countryside of the Costa Verde and Marmilla areas. Further on we enter the mountainous region, ascending into higher territory.

We also offer a range of other ways to explore Sardinia from trekking to kayaking so if you want to extend your stay please contact us to discuss some options.
