Surrounding Areakeyboard_double_arrow_up
Yeats Lodge is settling in well to its surrounds, it has a hard act to live up to. Just a few years old with Ben Bulben as a backdrop and Drumcliff Cemetery just across the fields, the competition was always going to be stiff. Geraldine & Michael Gibbons pay great homage to their surroundings by means of the house name itself and each of the bedrooms are named after a feature of significance in Sligo. They love the countryside which has been carved out of geographical & historical events such as the Ice Age, (Ben Bulben) and the Iron Age (Maeve's Cairn); and this energy efficient stone home retains rustic surrounds, where grazing sheep and clucking hens add some animation to the scenery.
'The land of Hearts desire' attributed to the area by its most famous son, W.B. Yeats. Escape to this wonderful place with a few days at Yeats Lodge B&B. Geraldine loves to share her experience of life in Drumcliff with visitors to her home and the only thing warmer than the welcome extended is the cooked breakfast, just one part of the large menu available. As a 'blow in' herself , Geraldine has taken great pride and interest in learning about and visiting places of spiritual interest such as the vast number of archaeological sites in this corner of Ireland. She can then impart as much information as possible to her guests.
