Description of Surrounding Area

Secluded on 11 acres with family's surrounding 300 acres, Prestwould has magnificent mountain views year round that look into the next county. Prestwould is located only 10 minutes from Winterplace Ski Resort and minutes away from Glade Springs Resort. The world famous Greenbrier is approximatley one hour away. We have easy access to whitewater rafting, mountain climbing, parks, shopping, antiquing, repelling, bike riding, boating, fishing, and many more activities. We have abundant wildlife surrounding our home such as whitetail deer, wild turkey, bear, many species of birds, and coyote. Surrounded by beautiful mountain vista, the area is covered in dedicious forest that make the Appalachians famous. Peak leaf season occurs in October. Many reenactments, festivals, races, historic tours, and candlelight tours can be found in the area. Prestwould is located only minutes from I-77 between Beckley and Princeton.

Description of Accommodations

Prestwould is an elegant Georgain home, reminiscent of an 18th century home found in England and decorated in the English country style. The home features high ceilings, spacious interiors covering three floors, an extensive library and elegant antiques and reproductions. The formal gardens surrounding the home include boxwood parterres, climbing roses, herbs, old English roses, perennial borders, fishpond with fountain, statuary, stonewalls, handmade birdhouses and dovecote, and brick terrace.

Description of Rooms/Suites

Professionally decorated rooms by the owner include private baths, (including tub and shower), pillow-top mattresses, luxury linens, satellite television, extensive video library, air conditioning and telephone for local and credit card calls. Turn down service is provided at night along with fresh flowers and chocolates by your bed. An elegant candlelit breakfast is served using silver, linens, crystal, and china. Christmas holiday season is extra special with greens and decorating classes offered early in the season. Cooking, gardening, and decorating classes offered throughout year! Call for details.

Reservations assure availability of rooms. An advanced deposit of one nights lodging is required with all reservations. $100.00 - 120.00 per night based on double occupancy including continental plus breakfast.
