Details of North Carolina Biltmore & Blueridge Adventure, Atlanta, North Carolina Bike Tours Details for North Carolina Biltmore & Blueridge Adventure

Active Adventure

Nature has been kind to western North Carolina, a region blessed with rolling hills, stunning mountain ranges, and abundant waterfalls. Civilization in turn, has been kind to the natural beauty of western North Carolina. The area remains largely undeveloped to this day. Experience your own 'gracious escape from everyday life' as we explore the mountains, waterfalls, and scenic byways which make this region one of America's true hidden treasures.

Our multi-sport tour, which includes leisure activities like biking, hiking and canoeing, is spread out over 6 days and 5 nights, from a Sunday to Friday. We begin with a marvelous float down the French Broad River that drops us off at the Biltmore Estate Winery. After spending time exploring the magnificent Biltmore Estate, we weave our way across the Blue Ridge Parkway to a slice of heaven known as Lake Toxaway. Waterfalls abound as we hike through Panthertown, and eventually find the greatest mountain town west of Europe in Highlands, North Carolina. Everyday blends the region's best bicycling routes, hiking trails and waterways into one awe-inspiring, well-rounded leisure adventure that everyone can enjoy. Each activity has optional lengths so that you can enjoy as much or as little as you feel comfortable with, yet still indulge in the magic of the region!

Typical Day

We don't think there is a typical day in this region, as they all are amazing! The beauty of a multi-sport tour is that one day you'll be enjoying a tranquil bike ride across the mountain ridge, and then the next day you'll be hiking in remote areas where most people will never experience. Wake up to a warm breakfast, get fueled up for the day, and set our on another leisure adventure...after all, this is your vacation, and that's exactly how we design a vacation first! And at the end of the day, relax. Relax in wonderful estates or bed & breakfasts that we have carefully selected and cater genuinely to our Discover Adventures guests!

Age range, type of group

We are in the North Carolina mountains, so it's not flat. However, every ounce of tour design evolves around finding the best routes that make this trip enjoyable. We recommend this vacation for anyone over the age of 15. The tour is fully supported, so if the bike seat starts getting uncomfortable, well then just jump in our support vehicle and enjoy the scenery on the way back to the inn. We want everyone to enjoy every step of the way.

Sleeping and meals

The tour cost reflects the magnificent accommodations that we have chosen for this active vacation. The Inn at Biltmore Estates, according to our guests, is a highlight and right on the grounds of the Biltmore Estate for convenience. The Greystone Inn is a member of the Select Registry, and is basically an oasis that is tough to beat. In the Highlands, which is a wonderful mountain retreat that thousands enjoy every year, we have hand-picked a spectacular b & b.

Tour cost for double occupancy is $2,080. A single supplement does apply if you are a single traveler seeking your own room. Our vacations are all-inclusive, save for one dinner and one lunch, which is usually enjoyed as valuable private time by everyone on the trip. Alcohol and personal expenses are of course not included, except for an occasional glass of wine at dinner on us.

Other Information

Summer & Fall are great times to visit western North Carolina. The elevation allows for cooler temperatures, even in the summer, and of course the Fall is spectacular!
