The main villa

villa Arcaia is just on the border between Tuscany and Umbria, so that guests can easily choose from a multitude of cultural and sightseeing opportunities, in the fabulous Tuscan-Umbrian countryside. Our Villa is closest to Chiusi (Tuscany) as it is about 10 minutes away from our Villa. Chiusi is also the mid-point between Rome and Florence so that each can easily be reached by car (using Chiusi-Chianciano Junction to access the the A1 Rome-Florence Highway and by train (taking the Rome-Florence Train Line at Chiusi Scalo Station) in about an hour ride. Siena, Perugia and Arezzo are also easily reacheable from Villa Arcaia by car or in a comfortable 30 min. cross-country train ride. The choice of smaller towns and enchanting hamlets in areas surrounding our Villa expands from Tuscany to Lazio and to Umbria. To name but a few. Chianciano Terme, famous for its baths, that has a recently opened Etruscan Museum and a lively programme of Summer shows, events and plays; Montepulciano, s Medieval and Renaissance village in whose countryside the renowned wine 'Nobile di Montepulciano' is produced: you can visit many open wine caves offering free wine tastings; Pienza, a true jewel of Renaissance architecture and art, planned by Pope Pius II Piccolomini and Leon Battista Alberti; Monticchiello, yet another wonderful Medieval village; Bagno Vignoni, a unique village with its main square consisting of an ancient bath; Medieval Montalcino, home to the world-renowned 'Brunello di Montalcino' wine; Cortona, Etruscan in origins but with important Medieval and Renaissance buildings, and well-known in our days for the Under the Tuscan sun book and movie; Castiglione del Lago and the Trasimeno Lake, with its islands, reachable by ferry; the medieval Citta' della Pieve, with frescos by Perugino; Monte Amiata with many nice typical little towns; from there you can drive to Monte Labro, where is the most important Buddhist community, in a very suggestive plateau called 'European Tibet', and also Gubbio, Todi, Assisi, Orvieto and many many other towns where time simply seems to stand still.Tennis court: 2 miles - 3,2 KmGolf course: 10 miles - 16,1 Km

Villa Arcaia is a fine country residence set in a spacious park. It looks out from its hilltop over idyllic countryside, a patchwork of arable fields, citadels, lakes and wooded hillsides. The accommodation is highly flexible, able to cater for all possible requisites on the part of guests. Spread over three buildings, it comprises four separate and wholly independent units, able to sleep 28 people in all, with facilities for the disabled. You can be sure of a welcome which is courteous and discriminating, and at the same time heartfelt. All the rooms have their own character. The four units vary in size and ensure that all guests have complete privacy. All bedrooms are furnished with taste and provided with heating and air conditioning. The accommodation is highly flexible and can cater for all possible requisites guests may have. Whether you are having a special gathering and need a large structure or wish to have a pleasant and relaxing time away from home, Villa Arcaia is the ideal setting. BellosguardoThe main house, Bellosguardo, is a typical foursquare turreted country house dating back to the nineteenth century. It underwent a radical restyling in the 1960s by a slightly eccentric actress, who turned it into an exclusive venue for parties and receptions. Furnished in eclectic style, Italian designed collectors’ items rub shoulders with antique furniture, as large fireplaces with carved wood panelling. In completing the most recent restoration, great care was taken to preserve the irresistible atmosphere of the “swinging sixties”. The spacious accommodation on the ground floor features an elegant living room, dining room, comfortable and well-equipped kitchen and a cloakroom. Rooms open onto a a quite large terrace with a splendid panorama, partly covered-in and equipped for barbecues. An elegant staircase leads up from the entrance to the first floor and its two luxurious suites and a truly remarkable bathroom for its size and décor. I BuccheriClose to hand there are the former farmers homes, called i Bùccheri, which have been beautifully refurbished to provide accommodation more precisely: Il capanno hosting 2 people, Le logge 4+2, Il patio hosting up 8 people. A large patio gives access to the ground floor whose living quarters are particularly attractive and comfortable and a fully equipped kitchen. All the rooms have been kept in classic Tuscan style with tiled ceilings and wooden beams inter, and feature rustic furniture in the best local handicraft tradition. They also have heating and air conditioning. The bedrooms and bathrooms are located on both sides. An external staircase leads up to the first floor, where there is a living-cum-dining room, kitchen, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The park All over the garden, guests will find areas in the open as well as covered in part, where to relax and indulge in reading or meditation. Altogether the estate spreads over 26000 m² of land, of which about 9000 m² is taken up by the garden and terracing, with a wall enclosing the buildings. The remaining land is used to grow fodder for animals and as an extensive olive grove.
