As an AAA Diamond Member, we offer private Glacier National Park Cabin Rentals and Lodge Room accommodation.

Located in the heart of Bad Rock Canyon and just minutes outside of the west entrance to the Glacier National Park, the Flathead National Forest is in our backyard and we are a convenient drive to nearby Bigfork, Flathead Lake, Lakeside, Kalispell, Whitefish and West Glacier, Montana.

The Main Lodge--originally built in 1907 and updated in 2003--provides classic ambiance with modern amenities, 3400 square feet of rustic charm and still boasts its original over-sized natural stone fireplace and pole pine lodge architecture.

With Montana’s Rocky Mountains as your backdrop, the Historic Tamarack Lodge and Cabins will provide you with the perfect setting for your next family vacation, corporate retreat, or weekend getaway.

We offer eight family sized cabins that sleep up to six guests each, six of which have two separate bedrooms, eight cabins that sleep up to four guests each, four unit cabins and two private studio cabins that sleep two guests each, in the main lodge we have one lodge room with private bathroom.

New for May 2012!! Five new cabins located on the edge of our property, bordering the Flathead National Forest. Stimson, Bowman and Kintla cabins sleep up to four and are built on two levels with a queen bed on the upper floor and fold-out sofa or futon bed on the lower level. Full bath and kitchen facilities, wifi throughout and satellite tv on both levels ensure all your needs are met whilst a private balcony on the upper level and patios to the front and rear of each cabin increase your enjoyment of our mountain location. Our Merritt cabin is ADA approved and offers a wheelchair accessible full bath and full kitchen along with one queen bed in a studio setting. Our McDonald cabin offers cozy accommodation for two with one queen bed, kitchen and bath. Watch the sun set while cooking dinner on your private grill and enjoy Montana's Big Sky setting. Booking now for 2012 season !!

Policies & Restrictions

•The lodge is open from 7:30a.m. to 10:00p.m. in the summer (June1st - September 31st) and 3:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. in the winter (October 1st - May 31st). Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
•We are animal lovers, but adopt a NO PET POLICY at the Historic Tamarack Lodge. (If you have a hard time travelling without your pooch, we do heartily recommend the Triple R Kennels, just a few miles down the road. The kennel is owned and operated by Roy Radabah, a true dog lover and breeder. Roy is sure to treat your dog as if it were his own.)
•ALL ROOMS are NON-SMOKING. Smoking areas have been established.
•A 50% NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is taken at time of booking a reservation.
•100% is charged if cancellation is within 7 days of arrival.
•Check in is 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Late check-ins must have approval PRIOR to arrival. Check-out time is 10:00 a.m.

The Historic Tamarack Lodge and Cabins are located next to Glacier National Park within the Flathead National Forest. The closest big city is Kalispell, located only 30 minutes away. Glacier International Airport is located nearby Kalispell, and is only 20 minutes away. The airport code for the Glacier International Airport is "FCA".

From the South: Approximately 8 hours drive from Yellowstone National Park. From Yellowstone, take 287, 191, or 89 north to Interstate-90. Follow interstate 90W to Missoula. In Missoula, get on 93N to Kalispell. In Kalispell, take Highway 2 East all the way through the town of Hungry Horse. We are located on the right side of US Highway 2 at 9549 Highway 2 East, Hungry Horse, Montana.

From the East: Travelling across Montana from the east, follow Highway 2 going west. We are 8 miles past the town of West Glacier, on the left at 9549 US Highway 2 East, Hungry Horse, Montana.

From the West: Travelling from Spokane or Coeur D'Alene, take 90E to St. Regis then take highway 135 east to 200 east to highway 93 north to Kalispell. At the intersection of highway 93 and highway 2, take US highway 2 west towards the Glacier National Park all the way through to the town of Hungry Horse. We are located about 2 mile past Hungry on the right at 9549 US highway 2 East, Hungry Horse, Montana.
