Navan and the surrounding area is renowned for its historic attractions and beautiful scenery. Within a short distance of Athlumney Manor is the Hill of Tara, the megalithic tombs at Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth and Trim Castle, Ireland's largest Anglo-Norman castle. Horse racing enthusiasts have a number of racing festivals within easy reach to enjoy including the Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse and the Laytown races on Laytown beach. Other activities include golfing, walking, horse riding, fishing & cycling. Navan town boasts a great selection of fine shops, bars and restaurants.

Navan is located in the North-East of Ireland, just 43 kilometres north of Dublin City Centre. For those coming from Dublin, take either route N2 or M3, directions as follows:
N2: Follow N2 north directly to Balrath Cross (R153 junction), turn left onto R153 and continue for 10 kms approximately when you will find Athlumney Manor B&B on your left.
M3 (northbound): Take M3 to EXIT 8 for Navan/R147. Turn right at 3rd traffic lights for Kentstown/R153. Continue to 'Y' junction and keep right. Athlumney Manor is 50 metres further on, on right.
M3 (southbound): Take N3 and then M3. Continue along M3 to EXIT 9 and follow directions for Navan/R147. Continue along R147 and turn left at 4th traffic lights for Kentstown/R153. Continue to 'Y' junction and keep right. Athlumney Manor is 50 metres further, on right.
NOTE: R147 is a relatively recent route change and this may still appear on maps as N3.
For those coming from Dublin airport, take the M50 motorway over to the N2/M3 and follow the same directions as above. There is also a direct bus service each hour to and from Dublin airport servicing Navan town.
