This reflects on both the Hotel and the booking. Nowhere there was a notice that the hotel was under a major reconstruction, the banging, drilling and the whole works. I even have a video from my room with the sound of the drilling around 11:15 am that started that day around 7am. Needles to say that staying in my room was unbearable. The pool was also under construction, and that was one of the amenities that made me choose the hotel. Problem is they let me book and pay without letting me know upfront the hotel was under renovation. Now, it might be a great place to stay once it is done, but there was no effort from staff or management to even acknowledge the inconvenience of it. Overall it tainted my first stay in Chicago. Fortunately the city has a lot to offer and this made me spend less time in the hotel, but that reflects very bad on the hotel itself. Stay away until the work is done. Highly unsatisfied.

We loved this hotel!! Pros: loved the location, incredibly clean, great breakfast and managers reception was an added bonus. Cons: concierge didn't know where to recommend a good dessert, our key card quit working, but the staff was quick to fix it and apologetic after we had to go back down a second time to get it fixed
One side note, you have to pay $50 a day to park in hotel parking (which is valet parking), but it is a one time fee per day so you can come and go as you please. There are a ton of self parking locations nearby but we liked using the hotel parking.

This hotel is in a great location in the River North part of Chicago. Service was good. The rooms were very clean, although not very large for suites. Nice breakfast (although lines were long at prime times) and cocktail hours (where lines were even longer). A great place to stay, but kind of a budget-buster.
