Above and beyond my expectations. I honestly can't say enough about this hotel. The room and facilities were immaculate, the housekeeping staff prompt and the valets were spot on. The staff and service was excellent. I had no problems whatsoever and any questions or issues I had were answered in an immediate and extremely friendly manner. Staff was continually asking throughout the day if everything was okay and if anything was needed. Great breakfast buffet and business lounge. Located in a great central area within walking distance to almost all of the sights to see.

This Hilton Hotel shares the same entrance and reception desk with Hilton's Homestead Suites. The flat-screen TV in the room was great with the HD channels available for âNADAâ (free is always good) and the bathroom was large and modern with a roomy glass-door shower. There also was a mini-fridge, a microwave and a coffee maker. The hotel has a bar/grill called the Great American Grill and a business room that has 3 free PCs and printers with internet access and a copier and fax machine.
This hotel is east of the inner harbor area (Piers 3, 4, 5 & 6) on the other side of these little walking bridges connected to the various Piers that allow you to cross over without going to the top of the pier (E. Pratt St.).
Pier 5 has a hotel, a Ruth's Chris Steak House and a McCormick & Schmick's along with a small lighthouse. Pier 4 has a Hard Rock, Dickâs Last Resort, Phillips Seafood and more restaurants. The next bridge will take you to the Baltimore Aquarium and Harborplace.
There is a great Latin-Brazilian restaurant names âTalarasâ next door to the right of the hotel that serves wonderful âtapasâ meals, appetizers, seviche drinks and has a wonderful $5 "Happy Hour" M-S for both drinks and apps. Also, on the other side of the Hotel is a Starbucks, a movie theater and a Haagen Daz. There is a Marriott, a Courtyard and a Four Seasons in the area, a Royâs (hawaiian influenced food) restaurant ($6 Happy Hour), an Irish pub and a seafood restaurant, Oceanaire, around the rest of the rotary with furniture and clothing stores around the corner. On the backside of the block is a CVS, a Whole Foods store, a Sushi restaurant, and a small, quaint Mexican taco restaurant/bar. Two âMoeâsâ restaurants (local favs) are one and two blocks away in different directions for steamed crabs and also the âLittle Italyâ area of Baltimore starts across the street from the Whole Foods Market. However, Iâll say that Moe's has the best local steamed crabs, even better than "Docksideâ in Canton, a mile or two to the east.
The free âCharm City Circulatorâ buses, both orange & green-line, have stops at the rotary. The orange line goes to and from the Inner harbor area before crossing over the Light-Rail transit line tracks which can take you to and from the BWI Airport for $1.60 each way. A tip â doing this during âIndy-Car Weekendâ can prove problematic for driving, but donât worry unless itâs Labor Day Weekend.

I recently stayed there for the IndyCar Race Weekend over the Labor Day Weekend. This HGI is a nice little hide-away next to Homewood Suites in the secluded upscale Harbor-East section of downtown Baltimore. It shares the same entrance and reception desk with Homestead Suites. The hotel has a bar/grill called the Great American Grill and a business room that has 3 free PCs and printers with internet access and a copier and fax machine.
A nice latin-fusion restaurant "Talara" with a great happy-hour is located next to HGI and there is a Starbucks on the other side of HGI with "Roys" and "Oceanaire" just across the street. One block way is a CVS and a Whole Foods market. You are also two blocks away from the "Little Italy" section plus several other upscale hotels and a movie theater in close proximity. This hotel is east of the inner harbor area (Piers 3,4,5 & 6) on the other side of these little walking bridges connected to the various Piers that allow you to cross over by the tip of the pier without going to the top of the pier (E. Pratt St.) and back down. Pier 5 has a hotel and a McCormick & Schmicks along with a small, quaint lighthouse. Pier 4 has a Hard Rock, Dickâs Last Resort, Phillipâs Seafood and more restaurants. The next bridge will take you to the Baltimore Aquarium and Harborplace. The free âCharm City Circulatorâ orange-line bus stops at the rotary by the Hilton Hotels and goes right by the Inner harbor area before crossing over the Light-Rail transit line tracks that can take you to and from the BWI Airport for $1.60 each way.

If you don't want to shell out for the expense of the four seasons, but still desire a high level of service and attention to detail, this hotel is for you. The room was extremely spacious with a great view. The staff were all highly professional. Location is extremely close to the power plant area--within walking distance.
Nice spacious bathroom too.
