  • All-in-one:Clean,FiberOptic Wifi,Centrally located

By Edwin Koo on Dec 16, 2009

Journalists on a limited budget should give this guesthouse in islamabad a serious thought. Services much better than the hotels in Islamabad Pakistan.

Great local food, a clean and quiet environment, and 24-hour uninterrupted wifi makes for a great SOHO to work in. Situated in a high-end residential district, the rooms in this bungalow are spacious, and makes u feel almost at home. The owners speak fluent English and provide great advice, so first-timers to Islamabad will find this very useful.

Transport can be arranged by the guesthouse to anywhere in Pakistan at a good rate. This is one guesthouse that will put long term benefits before short term gains, so u can be assured they are on YOUR side and not out to make a quick buck.

Travellers on official business will definitely find this a gem, although super-budget backpackers who just need a crash pad should look elsewhere.

  • Best&secure guesthouse, hotel to stay in Islamabad

By Najma Hussain on Dec 14, 2009

We stayed at Cape Grace for 14 days this month and have to deffinately give it two thumbs up! It is a superb style B&B in the heart of Islamabad. We felt at home and enjoyed every moment we were there. The accommodation was comfortable with a relaxed feeling to it. More importantly, it was exceptionally clean and the staff was exceptionally nice and took care of every possible need we had. The food is great and have a large menu available, omelettes were my favourite for breakfast!
The owners Karim and Sameer make sure that each and every guest is extremely happy with the services. Seriously, they rank higher than any 5 star hotel in Islamabad when comes to personal attention. There is very high security and being in Islamabad that is a great thing. We would recommend this guest housel to anyone and everyone for work or pleasure and will deffinatley stay again when we visit next.
There are many hotels/guest houses that are out there to get your money! This is not the case at Cape grace they are two lovely kind hearted people that will go out of their way to make your trip pleasant and easy.

They have free fast speed wireless internet connection and there is never power outage because they have big generator.

Once again a big thank you to Karim and sameer for being fantastic hosts and taking good care of us. The place is very safe, staff is very honest and I heard the same compliments about them from other guests who were staying there.

  • 3 weeks here and I never missed home!

By Colin Rutherford on Dec 14, 2009

I spent the most part of my 3 week vacation staying here as a tourist after originally booking 1 week. First time to Pakistan and I only had a vague idea of what to see in and around Islamabad so I was really surprised and thankful that Mr. Karim and Samir had new suggestions each day for places to visit. These included forts, markets, monuments and gardens. They even arranged for a driver to take me to these sites (some quite far such as Murree and Rohtas fort) at a reasonable cost and helped me arrange my stay at Lahore on short notice. My limited knowledge of Urdu was no problem thanks to their help making phone calls for bus bookings, etc.

There was an interesting variety lodging at NCG including journalists, researchers and people working for NGOs. Naturally as a shy person I didn't intend to meet anyone but the atmosphere was so welcoming at the entrance that I met quite a few and befriended some NGO workers with CDRS who took me up to Kashmir to visit.

I stayed in 3 rooms during my visit, all were very clean and spacious. Showers and beds were comfortable. Always something good on TV too. The guest house is situated in a quiet residential area of Islamabad, not too far from the commercial Blue Area, a 5-minute taxi ride from F7 Jinnah Market and a 10-minute walk away from F6 Supermarket (my fave). Sometimes taxis have trouble finding the guest house's exact location so I used to tell them "7th Avenue, F-6/1, House #8" (even if the guest house might technically be on Justice Abdul Rasheed).

As a recent graduate looking not to spend much, I found the pricing reasonable and the value great. Good security, courteous staff with also night pickups/dropoffs available for a reasonable cost. I found NCG to be very accommodating and like a home away from home. I believe it would also make a great spot for short stays.
