CRI sponsors outdoor education and study abroad programs for college students that combine a range of outdoor adventure activities and a full semester of academic credit in the Humanities. Locations in North Carolina, Australia and New Zealand.
At the Castle Rock Institute we spend time backpacking, rock climbing, kayaking, whitewater canoeing, and mountain biking. We have students with all levels of ability and experience, and we tailor our activities to suit every particular group.
A typical day includes opportunity for study and adventure. Students take four courses, one each in Religious Studies, Literature, Studio Art and Philosophy, but also spend about three days each week enjoying a different outdoor activity.
