Ecotourism International specializes in unique natural history tours to many of Nicaragua's protected areas and wildlife refuges. Our visitors receive expert, on-site explanations and natural history interpretation by world-reknown biologists and ecologists. We provide small-group, packages or customized itineraries. If your interest is bird-watching, butterflies, marine biology, or just experiencing nature, Ecotourism International provides a rewarding, educational and unforgettable trip.

Depending on type of tour, a typical day usually includes one or more of the following: short (or long) hike through one or more reserves and protected areas where the visitor is exposed to concepts in biology, environmental science, or ecology through hands-on, interactive interpretation. This is not a lecture, but a chance to quiz an expert in tropical biology on the cultural and ecological impacts of human-nature interactions. Most often a cold lunch is provided on the trail. Usually visitors return to their hotel in the evening. On camping trips, visitors return to the campsite and a hot meal after exploring the local area.

The type of accommodations available is strictly tour-dependent. Some packages include moderate to very nice accomodations, other packages are restricted to camping (equipment provided) because of either the probability of viewing wildlife or the lack of suitable infrastructure nearby.
