Rhinebeck is located in the Historic Hudson Valley of New York. Nearby there are antique shops and many unique stores as well as gourmet restaurants. Mansions, wineries, historical sites and beautiful nature walks and gardens offer only a few of the sites to tour. The Rhinebeck Performing Arts Center, and the Rhinebeck Tennis Club are on adjacent properties arrangements can be made to use these facilities. The Old Rhinebeck Areodrome and the Dutchess County Fairgrounds are a short drive awaywith many different and unusual shows and exhibitions seasonally.
The Culinary Institue of America offers four restaruants and has many of its graduates working in the local area, giving superior quality to our restaurants and pubs.
There are many lakes and streams in the area offering fresh water swimming and fishing. Lake Taghkanic State Park, Wilcox Park and Stissing Lake are a few of the nearby areas, about 15 minutes away. The Rojan creek and the Hudson and Sawkill rivers are good fishing sites to.
Horsebackriding is offered at many of the local stables which will have scenic trail rides and offer lessons both english or western style.
Ballooning is offered seasonally in the local areas call for more info.
The Hudson Valley Raptor Center offers educational exhibits and a vareity of local rescued birds of prey for you to see. They do a great job of rehabilitating Owls, Hawks, Osprey and many more raptors.

Our facilities lend themselves to a variety of uses. Peacful and serene views of pastures and the hills surrounding Rhinebeck can be seen from most of our windows. Inside our antiques and colorful quilts add warmth to the natural barn beams and siding in many of the main living areas and some of the rooms and suites. Sliding glass doors and skylights give beautiful light to the inside of the home as well as letting the outdoors in.
Our lodge and guest house are all located on ground level leaving the outdoors very excessible. Its not unusual to see grazing horses and deer in our fields together along with a few wild turkey. Many bird feeders attract the small vocal finches and colorful cardinals, occasionally one may see a Pililated woodpecker or a Sharpshin hawk.
We have a short walking trail through the woods and many open fields and pastures.
There is a beautiful location for the tent where we do small events and parties, prearranged dinners are available by reservation only. Just call to tell us how many.

We have rooms and suites to offer with a varing price range. Our rooms all have private baths and queen size four poster beds, two of our rooms have an additional twin bed as well. Our suites all have baths with jacuzzi tubs and showers. There are photos of them on the internet at

Our outdoor site is a beautiful place for a country wedding. Wildflowers and pleasant views surround the property. We have space for parking and a level location for a tent up to approximatley 200 people. Our caterer, Daniel Gendron, is an expert at helping you plan your event, from Bar-B-Ques to luncheons to candle lite dinners.
Indoor space is smaller, our meeting room will accomodate 10 to 30 people comfortably. If you are looking for a small dinner we can comfortabley accomodate up to 30 people in our solarium. Informal cocktail style parties can accomodate up to 50 people indoors.
Chef Daniel Gendron is a world class chef with experience from Windows on the World and Tavern on the Green,
he graduated from the Culinary Institute of America twenty years ago. Daniel has been in the catering business for the last 6 years here in the Hudson Valley, presently known as Gendron Catering. 914 876-4480

Picnic's for two and fruit and cheese platters or baskets can be prearranged also with the same culinary expertise.

Pets are accepted, and limitied to housebroken dogs. The Charge is $15.00 per pet, per nite. Pets must be housebroken and are not to be left in the rooms or suites unattended. They must also be kept off the furniture and off the beds in the rooms. Flea and tick preventitive is a must in this area because of Lymes disease and preventitives should and must be applied prior to your visit to allow the insecticides to work. (sorry no cats are allowed)

Reservations must be made by telephone to 914 876-6838. Reservations must be guarenteed by a personel check which must be mailed and reach us within 10 days of making the reservation. Thank you!
We have a cancellation policy of (2) two weeks prior to the reservation for individual bookings and 30 days prior for bookings for more than (2) two rooms. There is a cancellation fee of $20.00 on all cancellations.

From the village of Rhinebeck, New York - at the traffic light in the center of the village of Rhinebeck Route 9 & 308 turn and go east (3) three miles on route ( 308 ) Market Street to the Pells Road intersection. There is a sign on the corner which says WhistleWood Farm, proceed 5 driveways to WhistleWood Farm. Look forward to seeing you.

WhistleWood Farm is 90 miles North of New York City. 60 Miles south of Albany.
Newburgh Airport and Albany Airports are about an hour away, they are the closest major airports. Kingston Airport is the closest small airport for private small planes, but there are others, Dutchess County Airport in Poughkeepsie and Columbia County in Hudson are about a half hour drive.

Amtrack trains stop in Rhinecliff,six miles from Rhinebeck and Metro North trains stop in Poughkeepsie currently which is about a 20 minute drive.
